Literature Text

You are my siren song,
Stealing my breath
And pulling me down, down, down into the deep abyss
Of oblivion with no light to guide me home.
I am sediment upon the ocean floor,
Scattered and shattered like bits of broken glass
With each new current
That beats against my frame.
I am weathered down inch by inch
Until my very core is exposed.

My siren song, my deadly lullaby
You cradle me lovingly in your icy arms,
As I writhe in exquisite agony,
Sea foam and bitterness choke my lungs.
While I drown,
The taste of mordant sorrows and saccharine affections sear my tongue.
Your waves rip me asunder
And rebirth me into something new,
A mixture of you and I.

I am in the most hellish of raptures,
There on the bottom of the sea,
Lying in your arms.
I wish naught for more.
In our lonely kingdom beneath the watery depths,
You give me the sweetest of all pains - your love.
